Important Safety Information

Buddy & Joy products are designed to help create defined spaces in your back seat. They do not replace approved child restraints, seat belts or pet restraint systems. Dogs should always be secured with an appropriate harness while travelling, and the hammock should be installed according to the provided instructions.

Sit in the driver's seat facing the windscreen, that's your reference point. Left and Right refer to which side of the back seat the hammock sits on from that view.

Got a baby or toddler? Most families choose Right. The hammock sits behind you, so the baby seat goes behind the front passenger. Baby gets in and out on the kerb side, away from traffic, and you can see them in the rear-view mirror without turning around.

No little ones? Then it really comes down to who you'd rather look at in the mirror. Choose Left and you get the dog. Choose Right and you get your passenger. We won't judge.

Both sides cover the same two thirds of the back seat and leave one full seat free, so there's no compromise either way.

We'd love to help you find the right size for your car! Fit depends on the available space, particularly around the centre console, rather than the car model alone.

We offer two sizes:

• Original: Base 75 cm wide × 68 cm deep. Door cover 105 cm long.
• Compact: Base 65 cm wide × 60 cm deep. Door cover 90 cm long.

With your front seats in their usual positions, measure the available width across the rear seating area and the depth from the rear backrest towards the front seats. Check whether the centre console would obstruct the base.

Compare the door cover length too, allowing around 30 cm of slack between the hammock and door so it can open and close.

Headrests: The hammock attaches at four points, including the middle rear seat, with straps that go around the headrests. Each strap is 60 cm long. If your car has integrated (built-in) headrests that are one piece with the seat, as many electric cars like Tesla do, the strap just needs to fit around the top of the seat instead.

Large centre consoles: A large centre console can get in the way of the base. If you're not sure, email us at hello@buddynjoy.co before ordering and we'll help you check.

Two-part window frames: Some cars, like the Land Rover Defender, have a two-part window frame in the rear door. Here's a quick check: slide a small piece of paper into the window frame where the door cover's insert would go, then open and close the window. If the window still moves freely, there's room for the insert. If it doesn't, there may not be enough space in the window seal, so email us at hello@buddynjoy.co and we'll help you work it out.

• Give it a shake to clear out sand, crumbs and debris
• Wipe down with a damp cloth

• Remove all inserts and support poles first
• Gentle cycle, cold wash only
• Mild detergent
• No tumble drying, air dry completely before reinstalling
